April 10th ACT

Is anyone else nervous about the ACTs next Saturday? It's going to be my 2nd time taking them but I am still scared...

I got a 29 last time and am hoping to bring that up to a 31-33.

What are you guys doing to prepare yourself?

Well, I just purchased a few books devoted towards it in addition to the one that I currently possess.

It’s a fact that buying act prep books increases your score.

Buy 1 book +2 points
Buy 3 books +3 points
Buy 9 books +4 points etc…

But honestly to improve your score, you should take a few practice tests and make sure to get a good nights rest beforehand.

I don’t think that you need to purchase nine books to increase your score that much.

Not really nervous (Im a veteran at this lol) but we’ll see how it goes.

This will solely be my first ACT test.

You’re right warts i actually think 7 act books = 4 points =P

How many ACT preparation books are there?

There are a lot. Check out Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Borders, etc.
I’m going to take a full practice test tomorrow as if it were the real thing (ie. waking up early in the morning, timed breaks, etc).

I’m not that nervous, surprisingly. I’ve been getting solid 31-33s on practice tests, even though my goal is 34+ I guess I can just use my SAT score if I don’t do good enough.

^You seem familiar.

The test is in solely one week!

My first ACT! I’m really really nervous.

Seventh ACT test lol

going for 35 :)

my first ACT test… don’t know what to expect honestly

4th test for me, only taking it because I have never taken the writing like I should have, but since I’m taking it, aiming for a 34(I have a 33)

first ACT.
aiming for 30+

you can take ACTs like 5 times and colleges won’t know right?

Oh my gosh…I totally forgot I had registered for this. Still reeling from the 2340 SAT I got last Thursday. Can anyone suggest any good books for the ACT? I have one, the Barron’s Passkey or something like that. Is that good?

lol i don’t think you should take ACTs if you’ve already gotten almost a perfect score on the SATs

Yeah, but I had already registered before I got my scores. I don’t think that ACT refunds registration cancellations and I don’t want to waste my money.
