it was 7 cause the median increases by 20 cause they reduced it then divide by 10 cause they multiplied 50+20/10=7

if that is true i think i was looking at the wrong angle, but i cant remember it saying angle abc… gah

the answer to the median one was 7

@HSstudent I don’t remember the exact letters they gave for the points, I was just using ABC as examples. (I think it was actually angle BCD)

anyone remember the answer choice for the 4x + 3y P domain question? It was the only question I took a complete guess, put C.

what was the one where the side lengths were in a ratio of 1:4?
was the longer side 10??

It wasn’t a right triangle unless you drop an altitude from (0,4). If you did that you know that length is 4 (to the origin) and 4,0 length to the origin is also 4. if you have a right angle between these two (which you do bc you drop an altitude) hypotenuse is 4root2 45-45-90 tan = 1. if you didnt use 45 45 90 to figure it was 4root2, you could’ve used distance formula

You know what would be funny, if the ACT found out our names and invalidated our tests’ because we’re discussing test questions.

16 was the maximum value
and it was in quadrants 1 and 2

@bennkap0010 oh Lord here we go again. =P

@loveny I believe the longer side was 32? Yes, because 32+32+8+8=80.

i thought the area was 80?

i was looking at the side then ;/ i calculated the wrong hypotenuse which messed it up

@ loveny:

it was ratio of 1:4 and area 80 so you do (x)(4x) = 80 you get 4x^2 divide both sides by 4 to get x^2 = 20. smaller side = root20 bigger side = 4root20

@highteeld I thought the perimeter was 80…

Does anyone know about the one where it asked what the formula would be for doubling the area of the picnic something ? Where d=x? It stumped me for some reason.

i thought the bigger side was either 16 or 10.
none of the other choices factored into 80

here’s some answers. 44, 18, 16, 220, 12, A D C B (the circle one which you had to list the order), 22, 4.5 units up 8.5 units right.
also, the last one was less than 1 correct?

i put 16 for the 80 rectangle

it was definitely 18

It was hard.
