car engines was the answer, the wright brothers created a controlled flight(not sure if this was even an answer, just a distinction as to why they were special)

I remember one of the answers was rudders because it was stated word for word in the text.

“car engines was the answer”

I have to go with 7yearman with this one. All it did was briefly mention that someone used a car engine in one of their inventions. It didn’t correlate it with making inventions more successful. Near the middle of the text it stated that rudders made it easier for inventors to control the flights.

I put rudders, but all rudders did was help control it, not power it. Did the question specifically ask how it benefited the power or powered planes in general?

i thought those were two different quesitons

^
Looked back on this specifically in my test. It stated that after automobile engines were invented, it was easier to power an aircraft. Rudders were used in earlier flights (by other inventors), but they weren’t able to prevent the planes from rolling. The Wright brothers experiment specifically did so.

Now if the question asked for “control”, then the answer is rudders. Though I remember the word “power”.

I believe it was one question, with rudders and engines being suggested answers.

Whoever on here suggested reading the passage throughly and taking your time as opposed to rushing, and summarizing each paragraph with a few words next to it in order to save time, THANK YOU.

THAT ADVICE HELPED ME SO MUCH!

well i remember car engines was one of my answers, no idea what the question was

^^ditto. I read all of the passages thoroughly (except for the last one - I ran out of time -___-) and I am 100% percent sure I got almost all of the questions right. EVERY QUESTION was answered WORD for WORD in the passage!

One question on my peoples, for my chinese family what was the thing that benefited our business? was it our birth of a son?

It was the birth of many sons in one generation, I believe. They built the business up.

sounds right, i think it was 8?

Ditto about reading the whole passage. 'cept I got through all the questions.

The success was being able to eat meat curd. It SPECIFICALLY stated that “We were a successful family, but no so much that others envied us. We ate meat curd at every meal. We wore jackets with no holes.”

oh wait, that is right, wow that was a brain fart… eating meat curd is right for sure… idk what i was thinking when i typed that

Dude, back to the rudders vs engines.

WHICH ONE.

Remember one of the answer choices was “vertical” and “horizontal” something? That was NOT the answer choice right?

Also on the Wright Brothers section, I got confused on the last one. Something about Hawk and some city. GAH. I failed the reading section.

I didn’t think the answer was meat curd because I thought it was too obvious… gah.

No, there were two questions. The family was proud (I think that was the wording?) of the fact that they could eat meat and beans. However, one of the questions was what made the business able to expand (or something to that extent). That’s what I thought you were asking.

xD brain freeze too

It was Engines. It said something along the lines of the airplanes being more powerful and efficient after the invention of the automobiles. It was 1 line and in parenthesis so you may have missed it.
