April 2011 ACT Reading Discussion

ok what was fin location an answer to?

i think it had to do with if the author explained its significance or not, and it wasn’t… im not sure this whole thing is becoming a blurrrrrrrr

Fanks, I guess I just read the question incorrectly due to pressure.

The fin location one was where it asked which topic had not been answered. Fin location hadn’t been talked about in the passage so that was the answer.

ok i wasn’t sure

There was another question like that in the same passage…it was like which one was not answered in paragrphan 2 or something?

am i thinking of a differentt question

@AMZ1AMZ
i thought the passage talked about fins in the last paragraph…i think?
I thought the passage didnt talk about slow swimming or something…idk

Ok here is what i can recall:
Muddy water
Slow swimmers
Fin location
waves are visual to humans
porthole to tail
Battery- muscles
Strong electric fish
So thats 7/10 i can remember

it said that the slow swimming was counterbalanced by its dection of objects in muddy water

Do slow swimmers and fin location have to do with the same question?

@Hightheeld
ohhh i remember something about that…ya fins was the answer then…darn :P

They never gave an example of a weak electric fish in that one paragraph did they?

Yes, Konata is right!

its an eel, a strong electric fish, enough to take out a man-straight from the text

God the eel passage was so gay…

Im sry tats

Can someone please post all the answers they remember? Like on which passage they remember which key words in answers That would be EXTREMELY helpful.

On the electrolocation passage what was the answer to the question that asked something like “Which of the following is NOT answered in paragraph 2?” (I don’t remember the choices…)

i have no idea what that one was, cant remember

For some reason, I seem to remember/think that one of the choices was “weakly electric fish” and at first, I chose that because I remembered them talking about an eel… but then I went back and looked and an eel was actually a strongly electric fish and they never mentioned a specific weakly electric fish. Is that correct?
