@NIGHTLOCK umm… It was in science. It was in the moss passage. I think the question was like what was the area of the moss thing. It gave the volume of the trap # times # times #. I don’t remember what they were. I just multiplied the first 2 numbers and I think it gave me 625. But they are saying that is wrong, but I don’t know why…

I thought you could calculate the area because it gave you the dimensions of one trap and it told you that there were six traps in use at a time. Maybe I totally misunderstood though.

Ohhhhhhh, I don’t know about that one. I think I accidentally multiplied all 3 numbers :(.

From what I know though, the ACT NEVER has problems that can’t be determined…

I was so confused because it said total area. The area of one trap was 625 but there were six of them, but there was also something about adding another 6 traps. I still dont know

It have you the volume or area of the traps but not the location they were being placed so therefore it couldn’t be determined or at least that’s what I thought

I thought that 625 was just one of the sides? I think I multiplied 6 times 625 times something else. I think that when one trap was taken out another was added in its place so the area never increased, but I really am not sure. Ah well.

It was probably one of those questions that are meant to slow us down and that 98% of people miss… Stupid ACT

For that same science passage, there was one that was like how many traps were put down total or something and you had to choose from number x number x number. You guys remember that one?

Was it maybe 36? I feel like it was a total of 12 traps and 3 trials totaling 36…I know it was only the night time traps…

Ugh, I completely forgot. Let’s just hope for the best at this point because we’ve forgotten most of the questions or even our answers to them. We’ll see in a couple weeks :/. No use to ponder it now, nothing can be changed :(.

I guess you are right @NIGHTLOCK
Why can’t the ACT be on computers so we can have our scores once we finish them?

I’m pretty sure you can’t calculate the area for that question because it did not say that the traps were all next to each other.

I thought it just asked for the area of one trap? @halcyonalcyone

There might be a little bit of a curve with the reading, but I think the biggest curve will be in the science (if there’s such a thing as a “big curve” on the science…). I always hope there’s a big curve on the reading though. That’s the subject I’m worst at for the ACT…

Well hey, maybe -1 in science will be a 36? They have a scale like that in the Red book! But if not, hopefully atleast a 35. I hate the science scales where -1 is a 34 and -2 is a 32… That kills your composite score! @rkepp12

Yeah I’ve noticed they have quite a few of those! I think the science curve will be more generous though. I felt pretty good about the first two tests (I was able to check some answers and managed to fix two answers in each), but the last two will be the ones that bring my score down…

@imagineer10 I’m pretty sure it asked for the area of the place in which the traps were placed.

@rkepp12
Yeah, I feel good about the first 2 also. I was able to go back and fix about 3 towards the end, because I had like 5 d’s in a row which rarely happens. I think I missed only 1 math. Reading was by far my worst. I had to guess “D” for the last 5 choices. I finished science completely but I think I only missed 1.
So I am hoping for around a 34, 35, 28, 35 which is a 33 even. So I could still be a point or two lower and get a 33.

That sounds like a reasonable goal. On my last test I got a 23 on reading and 27 on science, so I hoping I can at least do better than that! Good luck to you!
