April ACT 2018

Curious for those that took the April ACT test today. Did you feel it was easier/harder than test in the fall? If so, which sections harder/easier. I’m new to college confidential (first post) so hope I’m doing this correctly and not already a thread out there. Looked but couldn’t find one.

My thoughts were that it was about normal or maybe easier than normal. I thoug it the English was easier than normal, the math was harder than normal, the reading was slightly easier than normal and the science was easier than normal.

Bummed about snow cancellation in upper Midwest here! Waiting for rescheduling.

SAME FEELING BUT I STRUGGLE WITH TIME

The math was significantly harder than normal, pretty much all the concepts I studied “just in case” were on there - despite most websites and my review book saying they barely showed up. Basically that threw me off for the rest of the test, the science and reading probably seemed harder because of it.

This was my first time taking it but I’ve taken the SAT twice and this math section was significantly easier—I felt like I did better than in the three practices I’ve taken. I actually got through all but the last couple for lack of time.

My son’s composite score went down 3 points on the April test! His categories basically flip flopped from his last test which ones he did well on and which were lower. Weird.

Have you guys received your April Scores?
My son has not.

My son’s scores were released right at midnight on the 24th this time. Last year, his April scores were delayed for no apparent reason but it was at least a month waiting. Hope you get the scores soon. Frustrating.

My son would say he felt the whole April ACT was relatively easy. He got 31 in math, which is pretty good for him, and a composite of 34. He definitely felt that the English was easier than usual.

No scores yet. I really hope nothing’s wrong!

Mine haven’t come yet either : \

Got my scores Wednesday. 34. I was really hoping for 35 but its still good!

I’m still waiting for scores. I may have to register for the June ACT (with late fee at this point) just in case the scores aren’t what I had hoped. This wait is ridiculous.

Yeah me too ^^ do you know if there’s a way i can register for the June act and then cancel if i get the score i need? i really need to know what my score is but it’s taking a really long time.

@the1footballer It looks like we’d have to register and no-show for June if we are happy with our April scores. There is no refund. If I had realized that the September ACT date doesn’t guarantee scores before November 1, I would have planned this out differently.

Well considering I would have to pay the late fee for it now I don’t know if that is worth it…maybe I should just sign up for the July one? I’m not sure…I have a conditional offer to a university as long as i got a 28 (first time I took it a couple years ago got 27) but I need to meet that requirement by August 30th. So if I don’t get the score I need from the April test I don’t know if the July test will give me my score back in time…

@959catch still no scores…any idea what it means when my act ticket shows up in the score area? it doesn’t say registered now so hopefully that means next week they’ll finally come.
