April ACT Results

Ok so results come out tonight. I just wanted to make this thread so we can all be nervous together. Post your results and what you thought here.

Personally, I'm just studying for AP USH, and occasionally getting distracted by the ACT. I'm not too nervous at the moment. Also, I apologize for any poor grammar or spelling. For some reason I'm finding it almost impossible to type coherently today. So that's weird. Maybe my subconscious is just really nervous.

Studying for AP Bio, comparative gov, us gov, macro, environmental science, and eng lang. 4 are self studies so yeah i’m pretty busy. I’m expecting about a 35 on this test

are the scores 100% coming out tomorrow? and at what time?

They’re coming out for the majority of the people that took it. It seems like 1 am on the east coast.

@statlanta, that’s rough. I have Bio, Lit, and US. All I’m taking a class for though. Lit I’m worried about, I’m around the 3/4 boards :frowning: I’m just not very good at english. Bio I’m confident I can get a 5, and US I think I can, as long as I prepare well. I’m jealous that you can be so confident about a 35. I barely remember the test, but I remember bombing science, and then I got at least 2 wrong on writing, and 1 wrong on math. I don’t remember much. With the curves for those though, it won’t be good. I’m hoping for a 32 at least.

I’m actually in contention for a 36 (for sure -1 M/ maybe -1 E &/or S)… assuming curves aren’t particularly dastardly this time around.

I know I got at least one wrong in English. I’m just factoring in other mistakes I might have made.
@runallday
I took US last year and thought it was easier than expected. If you are confident going in, you’ll be fine. I’m hoping for at least a 4 on Bio. My teacher has only gotten to chapter 38 in the textbook, so I’ve been doing most of the rest of the stuff on my own. Luckily, most of the ecology stuff that is in the later chapters crosses over with Env. Science. I have no experience with either of the English tests. I can do pretty well with the MC but the writing is what I’m worried about. Hoping for a 4.

This is great for my self esteem… jk. I’d be happy with a 32+ I really have no clue what I’ll get though. If I get a 33 I’ll be very excited. If I get a 34 I’ll be so happy because that means I won’t even have to take the ACT again. Just not a 30/31 please. That would kill me a little.

The English curve is really different from any of the other AP curves. For this to get a 5 you actually need to get a lot of them right. With 66% of multiple choice right, and 6’s on the essays you’re at a 3/4 :frowning: My essays usually range from a 6/7 but I have gotten a 5 on them before. Also the multiple choice are usually between a 60% and an 80% for me. I’m hoping to pull off a 4. Just not a 3.

what year are you?

Hoping for a good science curve as i had to guess on 2 answers :(.

What if you took it with the writing section? Do you still get a score tomorrow and another score later?

What is a “Curve?” Sorry, I just have no idea what people are talking about when they mention a curve in relation to the ACT.

Haha AP English Language is my nemesis. I can get 70% MC on a semi-good/good day. Essays, on the other hand, I can nail with 8-9s.

So maybe, if I’m incredibly lucky and get passages that I can understand completely on the MC, I can pull off a 5 :o

@Marie: Curve on the ACT is just how many wrong each decrease in score value corresponds with (i.e. -1 is still a 36 would be a generous curve whereas -1 is a 34 is a harsh curve). Of course it depends on the section what is lenient/harsh, science generally has a harsh curve.

I don’t think -1 on science will be 34, it was way to hard for that. Maybe it will be 35 and if we’re lucky it could be 36. I think it is -1=36 in the blue book, and that science seemed harder than any blue book I can remember.

I’ve really hoping for at least a 34. I know I missed, for sure, one on English, one on Math, and one on Reading. My Science may have been a 36. However, knowing me, I quite possibly made a few stupid errors that will drag me down too.

Best of luck to everyone! (Also, there is a new MSPA update as of right now. Haha.)

I’m freaking out. I’m attempting to study for chemistry, but it’s not working out too well right now. I will not be able to sleep until I see my score.

I like how everyone is like “Studying for AP X while I wait for my scores.” Haha. We’re so dedicated.

^Mhmmm!!! :)

beauty of IB’s hahaha

Also studying for SAT IIs a week from today. Are you guys still taking that?
