Oh @coloraturadad that is just heartbreaking! I am so glad your daughter isn’t in the middle of that, but what a horrible situation for so many students. I had no idea the economy was in trouble in PR.
Wow, @coloraturadad, that certainly puts it all in perspective! I am glad your D has Oberlin but it sounds like many Puerto Rican students of all ages are in a very tough situation.
@coloraturadad, such a shocking state of affairs for families and students in Puerto Rico!! I am very glad for you that your D will be safely studying at Oberlin, but I cannot imagine the general level of stress over the financial situation for all Puerto Ricans right now. And I have to say I am ashamed at how little attention this is getting from the press Stateside.
Thanks all for your kind words and concern. Sorry, but I did not mean to hijack the thread. Yes, the level of stress is very high as most of us don’t know what is going to happen to the Puerto Rico we all knew and grew up with. Back to topic, my D’s grades are starting to show up and she is ecstatic to score a B in history. That means no C’s in this senioritis semester! All her effort is now for the San Juan Children’s Choir end of year recital (June 4) which will also be the 50th anniversary celebration of the choir.
