I just got word that Harvard will be sending admissions decisions all in oversize envelopes.

from who? That's brutal...

Dean Fitz just e-mailed me back!

Most colleges send acceptance packets - often including folders with multiple pages, some of which are to be filled out and returned. Harvard also includes a frameable certificate of admission (though it would be a little ostentatious to frame it), so their packet has to be larger than 8 1/2 x 11.

...

That's just mean.

Mal77, theres no way they would do that to rejectees too.

Guys.....Mal's posts are meant to be funny.

I would try topping them, but I actually can't think of something more hilariously wrong than stringing an applicant along down to the second they read their decision.

If I manage to get into Harvard when the acceptance rate is like 7%, I don't care if it's ostentatious. I'm framing that certificate.

^Right on the fridge with a piece of cellophane tape.

^ How'd you know? ;)

Woman's intuition. ;) ;)

come on, two gag threads in the same week
they are funny though

i'd probably hang that certificate around my neck :P

^Paste it onto a sandwich board? The front could have your cert. and the back could have "Yeah....yeah, I got into Harvard.....wut it do!?"

hmmm.....nice idead
maybe i could add blinking lights and sounds too...

goes to the electronics store
and then realizes
hes not into harvard
:P

Speaking of electronics stores in India....are most items imported? (If so, from where?)

well...its a mix really
some of the more popular models are made here....nokia siemens sony samsung LG Dell do have huge plants.....

while the more niche ones.....LCDs, plasmas et all and the more sophisticated computers ( quad core, XPS etc etc)....are imported from china/taiwan

the markets BOOMING so the stuff is getting more and more localised
