lol, wow, if you broke 2000 you should be very happy! don't waltz in here with a 2390 and complain about how you should have done better (not directed at anyone specific). congrats all!

April 06: 2220 (770 CR, 750 M, 700 W) [70 MC/9 essay]

Oct. 05: 2200 (770 CR, 690 M, 740 W) [75 MC/9 essay]

Best combined: 2260

Happy about math increase, annoyed with writing drop, especially since this essay was much better than my last. Not going to retake.

Jan: 700 M 720 CR 690 W
April:720 M 750 CR 690 W

Fine with me, not retaking. Clearly I am not meant to break 8 on the essay.

Delayed til the 29th. Gah! ... yeah, it's my fault apparently because something didn't match with paperwork.

I am so scared. If I filled things out wrong, does that make me ineligible for National Merit Scholar/Presidential Scholar? ... I wonder if those are considered among the box for "colleges and scholarships" contact info release?

CR - 740 98% | Math - 720 96% | Writing 700
Multiple Choice 67 (score range: 20-80)
Essay 11 (score range: 2-12) (heh)

So..2160. Damn, I have to retake. sigh
I'm hoping (lol) that the scores are wrong -- again, but I know, highly unlikely.
I did a lot better on my PSATS this year.
I got a 78 on my writing opposed to my 67 now (wow). I suck. -_-

But math. I can't believe it.
Its not like I suck at algebra and stuff; I'm rather good at it, so I'm kinda puzzled.

Oh well. Retakes, here I come.

1840.

I'm retaking, hoping for 1900+, but I'm pretty satisfied with my performance the first time around.

My friends were really disappointed with their scores. They barely went up and both of their CR sections dropped significantly. Curiously, they were the only two who took the Princeton Review class.

Jan: 2120

Apr: 2180.
770 CR / 710 M / 700 W
Essay: 9 (And I didn't finish)

Not sure if I should retake, but this hurts as I got a perfect on my PSAT math.

600 CR
680 Math
580 Writing (7 on the essay)

My scores suck, definitely retaking. (they suck for Penn, anyway)

800 CR
790 Math (one question wrong, ouch!)
770 Writing (Essay: 7)

Combined: 2360

1st time taking it (2nd if you could the old SAT format...the essay killed me XD)

I'm disappointed with my essay score; I didn't think it would be so low! Worst part is that I didn't get any wrong on the multiple choice part, but the essay took me down to a 770. Oh well...I'm not taking it over again.

ok people who got above a 2000 need to shop complaining about their scores. there are plenty of people who scored lower and would love to have your score. and stop saying it was your first time.. like it was no big deal

Critical Reading 800 99%
Math 680 91%
Writing 710
Total: 2190
I'm glad CR worked out but really puzzled about what happened in math which should have been my strongest subject.

Critical Reading 730 97%
Math 790 99%
Writing 740, essay 12
Total 2260

First time, took 1/5 (2 sections) of a practice test in preparation. Probably retaking. I'm not sure how I got a 12 essay, since I only cited 2 literary examples.

Some of us, myself included, have little chances at some of the colleges we hope to attend if we don't score much higher than 2000.

720 CR
710 M
800 W / 11 essay
very happy :)

^Congrats. Your composite (30 points higher than mine) makes me seeth with jealousy. Writing was my dip, I need help there.

Relax people, it's not as bad as you think when compared to the old SAT. The new SAT has such a wide range. Be satisfied with what you got, even if it is an 1800.

CR 700 (no change), math 580 (down 20pts), writing 720 (up 50!)

so overall best (w/january included) 2020

by the way ACT gave me much better love

Why is everyone so freakin' smart?

I feel like an idiot after looking at 90% of the scores posted.

My scores are perhaps the worst here:

CR: 670
Math: 590
Writing: 640 (Essay:11)

My first try; I could definately boost the multiple choice writing and math sections and a slight jump in the CR would help.

argh.

Most would be fine pretty much anywhere if they get 2100+ as long as there is a balance of scores, not like 800 M but 630 CR. Most of the medians of the best schools don't go higher than 720 or 730 and ranges of most of the top schools I've seen are lower than I thought, averaging 670-730. Ivies on the other hand...I've seen their ranges at 700-800, which is insane.

I need to bump up math I think. I can do better than 700, but my nerves screw me on test day and I panic when I get to a problem I don't know right away, screwing me up for the rest of the section.

That's my biggest problem, along with blanking out on ridiculously boring passages in CR. My biggest mistake was not reading the italics before a passage, leading to the fact that I could not understand the conversational letter perspective, but 700 is good.

My biggest disappointment is that I did better on practice tests for the most part, but I'm happy with my 11 essay.
