April Visitation Days

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to know if something is going on at CMU on Monday, April 17th? I'm coming to visit that day, but they said that no parking would be available (17th, 18th, and 19th all have no on-campus parking). Since I only live about 30 minutes away from Pittsburgh, it would be convenient for me to just drive. Do you have any advice? Maybe I could just sneak into the garage unnoticed...?

from what I hear that is the week of carnival so that is the reason for no parking. But I am not a student so someone might know better what is happening

Just park at the Carnegie Museum garage about 2 blocks from the campus.

yeah, i was planning on doing that, but on the "Now That I'm Admitted" website, it says there is no on-campus parking available, so I suppose that includes the parking garage too

Think LFK means further down Forbes, at Craig Street, by Kiva Han. Not a long walk.

actually lkf is right, you park at the museum in their lot, Ive done it when the stadium garage is full and it's a short walk to campus. Museum lot is big but may be full esp if Morewood lot (where they have the carnival) is closed.

Forbes near Craig is parking meters I believe and parking is tight there too.

Meant the parking lot for the museum is at Forbes and Craig...

From CMU, go towards Oakland across the little "bridge" and turn left into the museum parking garge just before the Scaife Art Gallery.

Yeah, Carnival is coming!...so parking will be a mess. If you want to see Carnival, it'll be a great time to go...but I have a sneaky suspicion Admissions doesn't want high schoolers on campus then.
