AP's AP's AP's Help!!!

hey all,

this year (my junior year), I will be taking teh following courses:

AP US history
AP Biology
AP European history (I wanted AP stats but it was booked).
Honors math
Regular English
Latin

Is this selection of courses:
a) doable
b) impressive for Harvard/Yale/Princeton

and do colleges view most AP's the same way?
(for example in my case, do they regard AP Euro and AP Stats the same?)

Help will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Joey

Honors math... like, PreCalc with Calc next year, or a two-year PreCalc sequence, what is it? Also, what year of Latin? Like, Latin I or Latin IV? Also, what courses did you take last year? Are these your first APs?

How does this compare with your classmates' schedules? If your school doesn't offer that many AP's, it's a good schedule as long as you do well. If your school offers twenty APs, it's not as impressive. And I don't think any schedule is impressive for Harvard, etc., and explaining Regular English, unless you're at an incredibly snobby private school, could be difficult.

AP Stats, AP Psych and AP Geo are not regarded as highly as other AP courses.

Good luck!

honors Math as in the highest level math course after AP.
As I mentioned, I wanted to take AP Stats this year, but the bastards at my school won't let me, because it's booked solid - one class of 28 kids and they won't add another student.

im taking 3rd year Latin.

I did not take AP's in Sophomore year.
The only AP offered to sophomores at my school is Music.

My counsler says my schedules is very unussual compared to others she has seen. My school offers a total of 15 AP's ---> is a total of 7 AP's throughout highschool good for HYP?----> how many AP's do you need to be a national AP scholar?

It's a fairly average schedule for thoses who are admitted to HYP. Have you tried to get into AP Language, and then AP Literature next year? For someone who seems like they're good at humanities, that's be a good choice. And about getting into AP Statistics, trust me, there's always wimps who drop the class because they didn't know what they were getting themselves into. I'd say to try again a week or two into school.

My school has 25 APs, and thus when good schools review our applications, we're expected to take as many as we can and that fit into our academic program. For schools like HYP, that's usually 8-11.

If you take 4 or 5 APs next year, and get fairly good grades in all, then your transcript should be set for HYP applications. Congrats!

thak you very much for the feedback,
I appreciate your help!

A quick question.. I was scheduled for AP Language and Composition but due to a schedule conflict, I had to move to English III Honors ( which is the class right below AP Lang in terms of difficulty ) ... Will this show anywhere on my college application or is it something not worth mentioning?
