ap's in place of band, showing my EC committment

For the second straight year, I can't fit band in my schedule, as it conflicts with my AP Physics C class. If I mentioned trumpet as one of my top ECs, would it look strange if I didn't take band during my junior and senior years. I couldn't take band as a junior because it conflicted with APUSH and my pre-AP physics class.

That would be pretty bad. If it were truly a top EC to you, you would sacrifice another AP for a “top” EC.

Is it possible that you can try for a lower band instead of dropping it all together?

If you continue playing the trumpet outside of class, I think you should be fine because that alone should demonstrate your passion/drive for your EC.

My bro had the same situation since he couldn’t fit concert band because of Latin III-junior & AP Physics B-senior, but he still continued playing the saxophone for marching band (after school activity). And to give you a general idea of how far he got, he was accepted to harvard, mit (attending), tufts, and some other colleges.

@cornetking22. AP Physics C is only offered once during the day at our school. I want to major in math or engineering, so I think it’s important that I take AP Physics C. Besides, I’ll still take lessons, perform in various ensembles, etc.
