APs/ Summer College Courses

If I took Chemistry in a college over the summer, should I take AP Chemistry the following year? Or instead, should I take Statistics or Pre-cal? I want to take Pre-cal so I could take AP Cal AB the following year, and therefore have 4 APs (APUSH, AP Spanish Lang, AP Eng Lang, and AP Cal) my junior year. A little more info: I want to attend Brown.

Do you get college credit for the summer chem? Check Brown’s credit transfer page to see what will transfer (if that’s what you want to do)**. If you just want to take the highest level chem to have on your transcript, sounds like you might have done that - assuming it was the equivalent of a full-year course.

** Many of the top schools will only accept AP credit of 5 to waive core subjects, and you generally should never use an AP class to waive a part of your major requirement.
