How helpful are AP credits at Washu?

i kno they advise on not using AP credit for any premed situation

You can only get 15 units of credit for AP, and each semester course is worth 3 units. However you can place out of as many as you want, but you just won't receive credit for more than 15 units. Most of courses at Wash U require 5's for AP credit/placement and a couple will let you get a 4. Although from what I hear, if you get anything below a 5, you're probably just better off repeating the course, because Wash U's programs are generally very strong across the board.

I know that if your final grades completely suck than Wash U may withdraw your acceptance, but has anyone heard the some for really crappy AP scores? If you get like a bunch of 1's and 2's, could Wash U turn you down?

Don't worry about AP scores in connection with retaining your admission to WashU. AP scores are only for placement and credit. Only a significant drop in GPA during your final semester could lead to admission being recinded.

kolliparap's reference to 15 being the max number of credits is only for ArtSci. I know Olin accepts up to a max of 30 credits.

The ArtSci AP Policy can be found here - http://artsci.wustl.edu/~college/First_Year/Placement/Advanced/.
(I wish I had taken chemistry, but I'm happy that they are lenient with Spanish.)

I'm most likely gonna come in with 18 credits. Since I am going to be double majoring, though, and due to Olin's graduation requirements, what makes the difference is the placement and not credits. So, my decision not to take the AP US history doesn't actually mean anything, since I only would have gained credits from that, and not the abiltity to place into a higher level course.

hey do pple know anything about IB credits? in olin?

Is there a website with Olin's policies for APs? I've been going under the assumption that I needed the same scores for Olin are for ArtSci, but that probably isn't the case.

I called about a week ago and their policy is pretty much the same.
