I did 2 and 4 as well.

Imo, the dbq was the hardest part. It was an awkward time period that we didn’t concentrate on.

It was hard to pull in outside information.

travelbug, what’s USII?

I did 3 & 4 because I studied 3’s period a lot.

DBQ was bad for me, too.

Did 2 & 4

I’m unsure about my DBQ and FRQ score. I didn’t really spend time organizing. I just put down relevant information in chronological order. The organization was mostly from the questions (DBQ kinda organized it for you). FRQ 3 was very easy for me because our teache made us do a DBQ on it a few months ago. FRQ 5 was difficult partly because I didn’t have much knowledge of the topic.

I did 3 and 5.

I actually realized that I knew more about 4 than I did about 5 once I wrote an entire paragraph on 5, so I pretty much BSed it. I didn’t even get to finish… =(

I… absolutely… hated the DBQ. That section of history is possibly my least favorite. On the other hand I think I did decently well on the 2/5 essays. How long were everyone’s essays I’m curious.

My DBQ was like two pages and two lines (haha). The others were each 1.5 pages (one page is one side, so one sheet front and back would be considered two pages)

My DBQ was 2 pages, the first essay was 1.5 passages and I wrote roughly a page for the last essay. I was 99% positive that my raw score was sufficient for a 5 after the first FRQ so I didn’t have much incentive to write a good last essay.

@blarg7980: Mine were probably like 2-3 pages. My DBQ was about 2 and 1/4 pages. But my last essay was about 1 and 1/4, since I wasn’t able to finish it [was still writing when time was called :(].

My DBQ was seriously 5 1/2 pages. x D I didn’t even think about it, it was mildly organized brain vomit… It’s going to be funny to see how that turns out. The rest of my essays were about 4 pages.

lol Anyone want to set up an AIM chat so we can all talk about this in one room [it will be much quicker to discuss our post-exam thoughts]?

I was still writing the USII FRQ when time was called, too, but still got in about 1.5 pages. My DBQ was about 3.5, and the first FRQ was about 2.5.

jw, would collegeboard give you a score of 1 on your essay/s if you used the wrong sticker label? for example, if you wrote about essays 2 and 4 but placed the 3 and 4 sticker label on there would they discredit you for the first essay?

by the way, one hell of an awesome dbq. only chapter I read in american pageant all year FTW

Your DBQ was 11 sides of paper long? And the other two essays were 8 sides of paper long?

Most people on this thread thus far have referred to a page as the front and back side of the actual sheet.

Mine was brain vomit too. It was weird because when I read the question and looked over the documents, I couldn’t think of outside information, but once I started writing my brain was just like BLARRGGHHHHHHHHH

Anyway my DBQ was 3 pages and a couple of lines.

Anyone else do the AMSCO+REA Crash Course combo? I thought these two absolutely dominated the test, MC + Essay wise.

All I can say is THANK GOD for the APUSH crash course book. Otherwise I would have known nothing for the DBQ. I didn’t particularly like the DBQ but it could have been way worse and I think I had just enough outside information for a high score.

@ApTester: I used part of AMSCO [wasn’t able to finish it in time] and all of Crash Course. I dominated the MC, and knew I could have dominated the DBQ as well [I found all the info for it in the book], but I just couldn’t remember anything from the book. :/

@wanton ***? How the hell did you even write that much in the first place… My gosh you’re handwriting speed must be equivalent to someone’s typing speed…

No. Everyone I know refers to a page as one side of a paper, so that’s what I mean. ■■■■■, I didn’t write 11 sides of paper about Puritans.

@ ernie92: This is a late repsonse lol, but I’m not completely concerned with getting a 5. But I definelty want a 4. A 5 is my goal, but I’d be more than happy with a four. I’m weakest in the essay where you qualify, defend, or challenge a quote. I’m pretty good at the rhetorical strategies most of the time, but one has thrown me off (it was about a stupid lake lol) The synthesis free response is somewhere in the middle. How about you?
