APUSH 2010 post exam thoughts

@BusinessScholar: you thought your reply was late? lol Mine is real late, but anyways, yeah generally my comfort varies prompt by prompt. Most of the time I feel pretty good about the argumentative one(where you qualify, defend, or challenge) and the analysis one is just whether or not you understand the piece so it varies. I thought the penny synthesis one from last year was hard. It seemed so petty to me, which made it harder to find points to write about, but overall in the practice I think I did alright on that one. Have you done that one yet?

@JDelgado92: From what I remember, the emancipation proclamation was out of the time frame. Especially if you’re thinking about number 3. I don’t remember a single question where that would’ve fit, so you might want to be thankful you didn’t write about that because it would’ve been out of the time zone. lol.

Well the emancipation proc, was in the time period given, and I wrote that the civil war marked the ending of slavery but i didn’t put the proclamation.

On all the essay’s, I wrote 4 paragraphs. My strategy was take thesis, for example (political, economic, and social), and combine the two weaker topics into on paragraph. Then i DID NOT write the conclusion. So by the time the DBQ time was up, I was already a paragraph into Part B. I did the same thing and ended up finishing all 3 essays with like 10-15 min to spare. So that’s when I wrote the conclusions for all 3 essays.

IMO i think conclusions are a waste of time and only should be written if you have plenty of time left, to put the cherry on top. After all, you would eat the Ice Cream without the cherry right?
The conclusion contains no additional information, so why waste a good 2-5 minutes making a beast conclusion when you can start the next essay.

Lol well, then I got lucky there X) not putting something I really regretted not mentioning.
I also hate that I forgot to put the major cash crops in essay 3. So what I did was underneath the conclusion I put all my forgotten information :)

I don’t think I’ll be able to wait until July to get my results back! Ack! Our teacher spoiled us with having our scores ready the day we took our practice exams!

How many people did the "[screwing with the AP test graders](<a href="http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=204588807087]screwing">http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=204588807087)]" thing where they put a Kanye line?

Lol which line did you put? The taylor swift thing?

Oh by the way. To calculate your guesstimation on your score here’s the formula

(Amount of questions right x 1.125) - (Amount wrong x.25)= ???
– Questions left blank, don’t worry about them
Essays:
DBQ: Score (1-9) x 4.5 = ???.. See More
Free Response: Score of Part B + Part C x 2.75= ???

Add the “???”'s together and you get a score.

Next to the Human Geography test I took last year, this was probably the greatest test I’ve ever taken. We made shirts and wore bat rings, we even had a motto. IT WAS EPIC. In the words of Wilson, we were “Making the world safe for Democracy”. The essays were pretty great, I did 2 and 5, the DBQ… I used about 5 outer sources. I can’t wait until July!

what do we have to get on MCs , DBQ, FRQ to get a 4

You’re not supposed to talk about the free response section until 48 hours after the exam… I would advise editing that post while you still can before you get caught.

See my above post, both of you…

Yea I deleted.

I wish you could hide peoples post’s for them…I would hate to see his score get cancelled

Same… I think it’s too late to do anything about it now though. :(

Yea, I mean I understand the MC rule, but the FRQ thing, eh, it’s a little annoying. Oh well. The tests are done, so no real point in hiding it so much. Ah, there’s probably a reason, hehe, I should stop talking.

If I get invalidated, hehe, you’ll see me on the news :P

Haha, nice, wpjstar :)

JDelgado92 - I think you’re safe :)

i just editted my post.
i would be fine… yes… i would be…

I got completely destroyed by AP Euro last year. But I came back with a vengeance. I studied so hard last year and got a 1. This year, I hardly did anything and I’m pretty sure that I got a 3.

I have AP Lang on wednesday :/

lol…
i have some questions about the test and u seem to know quite a lot of stuffs :D

Nice recovery, JDelgado92! Good luck on lang! :)
