I am taking APUSH and AP Eng Lang next year, what should I expect?
Any advice?

I just got done with APUSH this past year. A lot of work, but I thought it was really beneficial, and I feel I learned a ton.

I guess it differs from class to class, but my class had a lot of focus on notes and document analysis. My teacher is also an essay grader for the test itself. If by chance you will be using the American Pageant as your textbook, this can be a super helpful website for notes and chapter summaries: [APNotes.net :: US History Notes, Guides, Practice Tests](http://www.apnotes.net/) but I suppose it’s handy whichever book you use.

Be prepared to spend a lot of time on your notes, and don’t procrastinate! I felt one of my biggest problems was blowing off notes and doing a rush job on them. If you take the time and do a little every night (30 mins - 1 hr), you’ll have the content mastered, and you wont have to cram the night before a unit test. Review books like princeton review or 5 steps to a 5 are also insanely handy in my opinion in terms of getting down dates and main events.

Also, if you have an opportunity to take a practice test, do it! I took one and felt very prepared and relaxed during the actual test. I was always nervous about my writing, yet my practice essays were graded 8 (DBQ) and 6, 9 (free response). Even if the scoring was biased, it gave me peace of mind, which is exactly what you want going into an AP test! :)

As for English Lang? My school doesn’t offer it! :(
