APUSH book question

Good evening,

I bought the Kaplan AP US History 2009-2010 book today, and I am quite pleased by it. How would it compare to the others? I used 5 Steps to a 5 US History as well, but didn't find it to be the bets (their World History version was far better). Has Kaplan's been as helpful to anyone else, or is there something better?

Cheers

You should seriously think about the AMSCO AP US History book. It’s been known to almost guarantee a 5 on the exam and even an 800 on the SAT II subject test for many students (read the reviews on Amazon).

Reading AMSCO twice = 5 on AP Exam
After this, look over a Kaplan book, and take some practice tests for SAT II, and you should get an 800 easy.

don’t ever get a kaplan - they’re terrible for all subjects

Amsco is great. So is Crash Course. I’d stay away from all other books.

The SAT Subject test for US History by Kaplan is SO much better than the AP version. The AP version is a bit hard to comprehend… I bought both the AP & SAT ones last year and I ended up never using the AP book. Hahaha.

AMSCO is the way to go and it was great reviews by Amazon. REA is pretty decent as well.

in my experience, if you have a good teacher than amsco isn’t entirely necessary…crash course, however, is great for its thematic emphasis.

AMSCO.

But there isn’t really a substitute for a good teacher in a subject like AP USH where a teacher should teach you good DBQ writing skills as well. But AMSCO > Kaplan.
