APUSH / Chem

I am planning on purchasing prep books for these two subjects in order to prepare for the AP exams in March. I know its a little early but I figure it would help me out in school as well, to get another explanation (different from textbook).

After carful and time-consuming searching of the forums, I have discovered the "best" books according to the majority of posters:

APUSH - REA for detailed explanation, and PR for more general review

I just was wondering...would this book be sufficient:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/0878918442/ref=cm_rev_next/102-5424547-0975361?%5Fencoding=UTF8&customer-reviews.sort%5Fby=%2BOverallRating&n=283155&s=books&customer-reviews.start=11
or should I purchase the newer edition book with CD
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0878913327/102-5424547-0975361?v=glance&n=283155&s=books&v=glance

AP CHEM - Barrons and PR (again, detailed and then concise)

Also, for the PSAT (it's too late to buy new books), but would a combination of KAPLAN and BARRONS be could for preparation.

I was just making sure that these are the correct books to purchase before I spend the money. Thanks for your help.

please help?

I don't use REA for APUSH, though it is certainly regarded as being one of the best. I use the other highly recommended prep book by AMSCO.

I use PR for Chem and I think it's good.

Thank you. Any others?

THat's a good book right there (i own it . . and i used it. damn for someone who hates history and did not pay attention a lot, that book is a life savor)
I heard PR is good for Chem too

hmm, for some reason, it says the link is dead?

lol
i just copied it from your first post
it's the book without the CD . . i didn't hear if the CD was particularly useful or not, but the book does the trick

Okay, thanks.

I'll just go ahead and get the one without the CD then.
Any more info about PSAT/Chem?

PSAT - do the practice test, and work on the sections you need extra help on from any sat book
It wasn't really that bad, i didn't use any prac. book
