APUSH Curve - somewhat urgent

I know that it changes every time, but if I'm getting about 85% of the multiple choice right on my practice tests (raw score of 61-62 w/guessing penalty), how many points will I need to get from my essays in order to get a 4?

Someone told me that with 85% right on the MC all you would have to do is get 3's or 4's on the DBQ and FRQs. Is this basically correct or is that a little low?

(the reason I ask about a 4 is because the essays are definitely my weakness...I feel pretty confident about the MC though)

Thanks so much!

That's too high. About 3-4 points too high, actually. If you get 85% right, you don't even need to do the essays and you'll get a 4.

Wow, seriously? That's very reassuring...I know that I can pull out at least a few points on the essays. Thanks for the quick answer.

Last year only one person got 5 in our whole school.
Minimum for 5 is: 60% MC/100% essays. Your practice tests suck, I believe :)

That comes out to a total of 135 points, which is about 30 points higher than what's needed for a 5.

ye i'm not worried about the USH....i finished my studying once i finished studying for SATII USH, which is harder anyway than the AP MC.
