As so many of us are aware, AP exams are fast approaching. I'm currently on the list for 3 exams. US History, Psychology, and English Lang.
I'm new to Ap classes as this is my first year in them. My question is: Is the Us history exam worth anything? And if so could you offer any study tips? I'm considering not taking the exam due to possibly not being fully prepared. Will this hurt anything dealing with college admissions?
Thanks in advanced.

BF utilized McGraw-Hill’s “5 Steps to a 5” for APUSH and swears by it.

I’ve heard teachers say colleges don’t like seeing students who’ve taken AP classes then not attempted the test. I have no idea whether this is true or not, but it may be something to consider checking into.

If you go to a school that accepts the credit, then it is absolutely worth it! Most schools allow you to use apush to fufill tedious gen ed requirements. My school is giving me 8 CREDITS for the test. Thats an entire half a semester of coursework for just one exam! Bottom line, it is worth it

The schools that do accept APUSH credit usually offer 8 credits for it, as opposed to 3-4, since U.S. History is often treated as two courses in higher level curriculum (Columbian-Civil War & Reconstruction-Present Day). I did not prepare well for the APUSH exam but received a score of 4 - I think if you start studying now and try to absorb as much information as possible, you can do extremely well.

It’s also useful, from what i’ve heard, in getting out of the prereq for college. which is really useful, if you don’t plan on majoring in history or a related subject.
