APUSH Grade Inflation??

My school offers one US history class and its extremely easy to get an A (show up everyday and don’t fall asleep). Because of this, the class isn’t very rigorous and didn’t prepare me very well for APUSH. I studied my butt off and managed to get a 3. I know this is still passing, but does it raise questions about grade inflation at my school? (I go to a STEM school, and grades in non STEM classes are pretty inflated). How will colleges view this?

No. It sounds like you didn’t have an APUSH class. Colleges don’t believe any USH class should prepare you for the AP test.

@“Erin’s Dad” Because I took the AP test, my counselor changed my transcript to show AP US History…

It sounds to me like you took a regular history course and then took the AP test. Perhaps your HS profile may make that clear to colleges.

@happy1 my school profile says it offers AP courses when in reality it’s just a regular history class with the option to take the AP test

Interesting. Well the school profiles I’ve seen often has average GPA so if there is a lot of grade inflation colleges will probably be somewhat aware. If your HS has Naviance that may be a helpful tool for you.

I think the school profile also usually lists AP courses that are offered. APUSH wouldn’t be on that list for your school.
