Should I take AP US History in the Summer?

How hard will it be???

I wanted to ease my already demanding schedule for next year.

Thanks :)

Your summer is going to suck really, really badly. Don’t do it.
It’s better to learn the info bit by bit throughout the year.
What’s your schedule?

Why would you ever!?

Relax and enjoy summer.

No!!!

Take something else over the summer. Please. You do not want to take APUSH over the summer. It’s one of the most, if not the single most, information laden AP class. You would not benefit from squishing it all into one summer.

Well…it’s only a month long. It’s ok if one month of my summer summer sucks. I have 3 months for summer. And it would save me a year of pain…so ahhh i don’t know.

trying to learn all of that in one month is even worse than spreading it out for the whole summer.

agreed
10 char

1 month for APUSH? O_O My brain would explode. I’d rather retake -big breath- Pre-Calculus than take APUSH in a month.

Don’t ruin your summer. Seriously.

Bad, bad idea. Go spend your summer doing something else.

APUSH covers 230+ years in depth. It is difficult for some classes to cover it in one year. One month would be ridiculous and nearly impossible in my opinion. Heavily advise against it.

Not only is that a bad idea based on time restrictions, but the exam is only offered in may, so you would basically have to relearn the whole curriculum to review for the test.

As everyone has very adamantly said, no, no, no. Worst class I have ever taken. Tons and tons of reading and memorizing especially considering it was a whole year course. Have fun in your summer. If you want to do something “productive,” travel abroad and improve your foreign language skills (that’s what I did for two months). Unless you absolutely love history (even then it’s a bad idea), it would be a very bad decision. Don’t do it man!

even if you did take it, you’d forget everything by the time of the AP test…

Wow. You guys really don’t advise it haha. :D

I don’t think I will do it now. :)

lol i dont see how its that difficult. im taking apush this year but my teacher sucks really bad, so I’m having to cram in everything this month. it’s not that bad really, ive already read 200/666 pages of AMSCO in like 4 days…

I’m planning to read the entire AMSCO book in one day by pulling an all-nighter 2 days before the AP exam

^haha i’m doing that too, but with REA

Two day cramming? No good for me. I’d rather cram it all into Spring Break instead, and then do light review before the test.
