I've heard great things for both of REA's crash course as well as AMSCO's APUSH book (this is the one, right? Amazon.com: United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement…)
Which one is better or should I just buy both? (I've taken WHAP btw also, so I kinda have a good feel of how history AP's work out, and I'm taking Euro next year).

Those are definitely the top two APUSH review books IMO. While Crash Course is very short, gets to the point, and totally dominates every year’s APUSH multiple choice, AMSCO review pretty much all the information you will need to know for the test. It is much, much longer than Crash Course, but both will provide you with the coalition to score an easy 5.

I’ve never used REA, but if you could only buy one, I would definitely push for AMSCO. It has absolutely everything you need to know, and it’s well organized! But as puggly123 said, it’s not a short and light read, and if you’re just starting to read it a week before the exam, it’s probably not going to help as much.

I would get both. Crash Course is also a nice way to review for the SAT II exam

As a lazy procrastinator, I used rea (for obvious reaons) and yeah, pretty sure I got a 5 on the test. Although AMSCO does in fact contain more information and its the “superior” book over all in terms of coverage, REA would be more than enough for that 5 (curve for apush is still fairly generous). However, if you are, for some reason, using the prep through out the year instead of the textbook (bailey anyone?), amsco may fit better.

I’ll prolly buy both, read AMSCO over spring break, and go through AMSCO and read REA right before AP (I also have Euro on the same day. Shoot meh pl0x).
THANKS GUYZ !
