APUSH Self Study

So i was wondering how hard it is to self study for the AP US History. I would just take it as a class at my school, but I've heard that the teacher that teaches it is something short of a Soul-Eater. Any insight would be lovely.

I strongly recommend taking the course itself, because APUSH is very dense, and many of the topics cannot be merely grasped by reading through in a self study book, but rather need to be broken down into bits and reiterated by an instructor. I for one, knew that it would be very difficult for me to understand the socioeconomic influence in politics of the late 19th century had my teacher not been there to explain it to me after reading through it in the text.

Self studying, at least in my mind, works best for Mathematics and more systematic subjects where it’s pure methods rather than complicated content and themes.

It actually shouldn’t be too hard to self-study apush. The main thing you do in class, at least at my school, was just read the textbook. When I took apush, we really didn’t do much in class.

However, I don’t think I could have had the will-power to read through the boring text without the helpful influence of knowing I had a test next class. The class will help you stay focused and just immerse yourself further in it, but self-study and a 5 can be done.
