APUSH situation

I am a straight A sophomore that goes to a small school where APUSH isn’t offered, but we take two years of US History. I am finishing my second year of US History and signed up to take the AP test in January.

Of course in January I imagined myself studying a lot more than I actually have and with only a week left until the test I am sorta freaked out. I haven’t even started going through my review book…and I didn’t even take the course.

Like I don’t even remember post Jefferson to like the Missouri compromise…

Soooo. what should I do? I know that I don’t have to report my scores to colleges if I bomb it but still I don’t want to, obviously. What is the most important things to study for it/practice in a week.

THank you!

Procrastination is a !@#$% right? I know, I’ve been there and done that. Since you’ve took 2 years of US history you must have some solid areas of knowledge. Go through your review book, look at the strategies offered, and know which part of history is emphasized the most. I don’t know right off my memory but I think the AP exam consists of 40% on political. Remember all the key elections, major court cases, etc… I believe the economy is worth around 10-15%. It’s a bit too late to buy a good review book (The Essential Content by Larry Kriegar) but I suggest you go to the book store and STUDY the Rea Crash Course book. This may not be the best for FRQ/DBQ but it will certainly help you A LOT on the MC part. It doesn’t matter anyway since you took 2 years of US history you probably remember most of the key details which is vital in FRQ and DBQ. Everyone has a different study method but right now I’m reviewing my Essential content book, practicing previous exams/essays, and reading the CC book two days before the exam. The day before the exam I usually just chill with my friends and go through Barrons 500 flashcards. Good luck and always be optimistic. I usually give an imaginary middle finger salute to people who think negatively.

Thank you so much! Ah that calmed me down a little bit. I have the rea crash course book and have been studying it now and then but now it is my best friend for these last few days. With me everywhere I go haha
