Just took the APUSH exam today, and it was 100% easy. I’m a student that has a burning hatred in my soul for history, so U.S. was a terrible class for me, even thought I survived it. I always got D’s-B’s on the tests that my teacher would make similar to the exam, but the questions seemed impossible.
I obviously studied A BUNCH for this AP Exam, especially because although a 5 would be nice, I need at least a 4 for using the college credit to NOT take history EVER again in college. However, I always studied for my teacher’s regular tests, and bombed them!
The AP Exam, however, was OH MY GOD easy without a doubt. Did anyone else think so? I won’t go into detail because it hasn’t been 48 hours yet, but WOW I thought it was a complete joke: multiple choice, short-answer, dbq, and long essay prompt.
Curve will definitely be harsh. They’ll probably make so you have to get 95% of the points to get a 5. 80% just to pass.
@obitosigma no way 95% would be needed for a 5. For most AP tests, you need ~70% to get a five. The curve may be harsher this year, but it won’t be THAT harsh. If it was that harsh, a lot of people wouldn’t pass (remember, CC is mostly filled with the high-achieving students, so there will be a common trend of “this was easy”). They’re also still feeling the test out considering this was only the second administration of the new APUSH test.
I agree with the statement above, the curve was generous last year presumably around the 70% mark for a five. Probably if anything the curve for this year may be a 5% increase from last year for a five…also the the SAQs, LEQ, & DBQ were fairly easy but the multiple choice was quite complex as the wording of some of the questions could have been easily misinterpreted.
