APUSH vs AP Gov't

I'm an upcoming junior who's moving to a different state and, therefore, a different school. My new school offers these choices for my history class, but I don't know which one to take first? I plan on taking both by the end of senior year, but which one is better to take first? Btw, since AP Gov't is only a semester long, I have to take AP Macro for second semester.

I've heard that APUSH is pretty hard because it requires a lot of memorizing so I'm tempted to take AP Gov't first, but then I also heard that taking APUSH is helps a lot with AP Gov't.

Any reply would be appreciated!

I took APUSH my Sophomore year and it was two things - a lot of memorization and a lot of note taking. It is a lot of work, it is a lot of information to retain. There are parts of APUSH that are much more conceptually difficult to grasp than AP Gov’t - so I think that you should try to tackle APUSH first, in your Junior year, and then leave AP Gov’t for your senior year. Senioritis is inevitable, and Senioritis+APUSH seems like a volatile mix.

I took apush junior year and will take comp gov for a full year next year
