I’m attempting to TAG UC Irvine this semester (Fall 2018), but I got an F in a math class last year (Fall 2017). The minimum GPA to tag is 3.4 and I currently have a 3.1 including the F, but with academic renewal, I have a 3.5. The only problem is I have to wait a year since I’ve taken the course. I tried to submit the academic renewal request last month(August 2018) , but they sent it back to me telling me to wait until the Fall semester is over, but applications would already be due by then. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

UC Irvine doesn’t ask for your transcript until after you get accepted. If you’re confident in completing the rest of your TAG requirement, you can finesse yourself in since by the time you give them your transcript you would already have the AR approved. Double check with your school counselor.
