<p>This thread is becoming a waste of all of our time, so I’ll just conclude with this… </p>
<p>I was not trying to insult the school or other applicants. I posed it as a question (“Arbitrary Admissions?”) It was merely a thread to see if other students were in my position and could relate. I wanted to know if such circumstances were a normality this year, or if I was a just a fluke. </p>
<p>If you want to believe that my stats are falsified (though I assure you they are not) then that is your prerogative. </p>
<p>“Safety” schools are part of college hunting. I don’t think it is arrogant to use that term. My thoughts when posting this weren’t “Wow, did USC seriously not accept a student of my caliber?” They were more along the lines of… “Jeez, I guess USC wasn’t as safe as I thought…” My sincerest apologies if I did not sufficiently portray this, but regardless, I don’t think my post merited this torrent of abuse. </p>
