Had anyone taken this course? Was it interesting? Was it a lot of work/hard?

a lot of people take intro to architecture (it is actually like the architecture student’s first semester of architectural analysis). the class is easy and really interesting. for the non arch majors, it requires a different kind of work…while arch students have to draw, you would have to write a couple of simple papers. i do not know who is teaching the class this semester (since the prof who usually does it will be in Rome with us! ) but if you tell me who is teaching it i’ll give you the low down usually you will be going on a lot of walking tours around campus and around the various new buildings (ie weill, the new hotel school addition, maybe even milstein construction site, etc)

i would take it. just avoid any architecture class that is taking studio as an elective

If that’s the one for non-arch majors then it’s the one my daughter took, and it was not a lot of work at all and relatively easy. She enjoyed that class.

I wish I took that class, but I remember it being too hard to cram into my schedule.

The professor is a visiting assistant professor by the name of Mark Morris. He sounds like an intelligent man by his CV. His page can be found here:

It says I need instructor permission to enroll. I emailed him yesterday and the class begins tomorrow and I have not received a response yet. Should I just show up and talk to him in person at the end of lecture?

just show up. mark is amazing and will surely let you into the class!
