Arch Engineering/Civil Engr. Chances

This is my senior year, but CalPoly is my #1 Choice. I am looking at either Civil or Architectural Engineering. Here’s my stats

Cum GPA: 3.8 (4.0 in Junior year)
SAT: 1160
ACT: 24
All Honors and AP for Math and Science
Attend a top 5 High School in San Diego County
Varsity Lacrosse 3 years
Tons of Community Service - Coaching, non-paid intern with NOAA, etc…
Paid full-time Summer Internship this year with a robotics company working in Engineering
2+ years of continuous part-time work…on top of the Internships

Will definitely apply early decision…so what are my chances? I realize the average acceptance numbers may be higher than mine, but of course that means some scores/gpa’s will be lower too. So what do you think?

Maybe for civil, probably not for architectural. The GPA is alright, but the SAT is on the low side for any engineering major. Nice looking extracurriculars, but unfortunately, they are such a small part of the application. I would definitely study like mad and retake the SAT.

retake the ACT

Okay, I actually made a mistake on my 1st post, as I didn’t calculate my GPA correctly, so here are my stats as submitted to CalPoly.

WGPA = 4.0 (10-11th)
including 4 year honors math
4 years AP/Honors science

1180 SAT (superscored)…didnt realize they superscored.
Worked full time last summer for Engineering firm (paid)
Worked part-time last spring for NOAA (unpaid)
Work part-time continuously since 10th grade in addition to the above
Played Varsity Lacrosse 3 years.
Coached youth lacrosse 2 years.

I applied to Civil Engineering w/second choice Arch. Engineering. I decided to go with Early Decision. What are my chances. I already have been accepted out of state (safety), but CalPoly is my 1st choice.

I think you have a pretty good chance. I still think you should retake the SAT.
