I have researched archaeology and it appears the job market is not that good. I would in the very least get an MA in archaeology and seriously consider getting a phd.

I was just wondering if anyone in the field or anyone that knows more about it could tell me about the job market with someone with a masters and any other aspects of the field that you feel are important to tell someone thinking of entering the field. Are there certain fields within archaeology that have better job prospects? While I want be an archaeologist I also want to pick a concentration that would maximize my chances of getting a job. I have come across a field called "computational archaeology" but I feel that there are no programs for this yet and I could do this by getting a certificate in GIS. I am in the U.S. by the way.

Thank you
