ARCHE program cost?

Hello everyone,

I’ve got calls into nothing Emory and SCAD about students cross registering through the ARCHE program. While I’m waiting, I figured I’d ask CC.

  • Time management aside, how easy is it for an Emory student to get classes at SCAD?
  • Are there additional costs or is it included in the Emory tuition?

Found my answer. No additional tuition costs for ARCHE participants.

@romns116 FYI, there’s a free shuttle bus between Emory (Atlanta campus) and Georgia Tech:

I’m not aware of shuttles that connect Emory to any other Atlanta area colleges (of which there are many).

Yes, I saw that and called to find the operating schedule. Seems like it runs throughout the day til the early evening, which would work.

Challenges:

  1. According to the map, SCAD seems close, but not walking distance from GT. Anyone know?
  2. SCAD academic calendar is quarterly (10 weeks). I’m sure Emory is uses semesters. Is it doable to take classes in both calendars at the same time?

I don’t know about the walking distance from GT to SCAD. If it looks too far, it probably is, especially with a backpack and in the event if either hot weather or cold weather. Atlanta has real winters (with snow) and real summers.

Emory operates under the semester system. There’s no inherent conflict between taking coursework under a quarterly system and taking them under a semester system. It may even help because the quarter system finals and midterms will not be in same time frame as the semesterly finals and midterms. Not having them all together will help.

Potentially more problematic is scheduling classes back to back given the commute.

I feel like uber/lyft is really cheap in metro Atlanta…just throwing that out there.

Have either of you (or anyone you know) ever participate in the ARCHE program? Is it generally frowned upon or difficult to cross-register at Emory?
