Architectural Engineering

I was accepted to a college and planned on getting an Architectural Engineering degree, but I'm now second guessing myself. I'm just wanting to be an Architect, I want to design the houses. I really like the college though, I want to go there for a few years. I heard that I'll just be taking some core classes the first two years and then I'll get into the actual engineering classes. Would it be difficult for me to go to this college for two years, just to get my core classes and then transfer to a college where I can get an Architecture degree?

It’s difficult to transfer into a professional level (B. Arch) architecture program. That degree requires a certain number of studio courses to be taken and as such requires 5 years to complete. Even transfers with credits are likely to have to start at the first year level. If you are looking to tranfer into a pre-professional program (such as a BS or BA in architecture or something similar) that would generally be more flexible. If you goal is to become a licensed architect however, you would then still need to go to graduate school to get an M. Arch.
