Architectural Engineering?

How is the program? What does it focus on? Any information fro alumni or anyone please!

Well I just got accepted to that program and to my understanding, it leads to a job in structural engineering. Its one of SLO’s most renowned programs.

are you planning on going to cal poly??

Architectural engineering is a branch of engineering that focuses on buildings. It touches on civil, and structural mechanical, and environmental engineering as well as architecture. Common concentrations are structural, fire safety, acoustics and lighting, HVAC. It looks like Cal Poly’s program only focuses on structural. This probably Is due to California law and licensing requirements for engineers. If I remember correctly, California offers P.E. Licensure in structural but not architectural engineering, which would explain the narrow focus at Cal Poly.

thank you!
