Is anyone planning to major in, or currently is in an architecture program? i wanna hear about the coarseload/ if you get any free time.

yeah i'm majoring in architecture this coming fall. the main course that takes up most of your time is the design studio. People say the amount of free time you get depends a lot on how well you manage your time but I think if you really want to do well in studio, you'll be spending many late nights. It's a lot of dedication and you'll get way less free time than most people outside of your major but if you enjoy what you're doing, it certainly is rewarding.

this, coming from design studio courses I took last summer.

Sashimi46 summarized it well. There's a reason most architecture buildings are open 24/7. However, if you manage your time well, most days you can still have a life. A lot depends on your school and the particular professor you happen to get for studio. Usually other classes are secondary/supplementary to studio. I'm entering my third year of my B.Arch.

I really want to see this thread take off, but I feel I should reference the old architecture thread in case someone doesn't know it's there: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=26883
