Architecture & architectural engineering

What schools offer architectural engineering or civil engineering as a minor and the major being architecture

Penn State Drexel University of Miami University of Texas are the major ones I am looking at right now

There are a couple of good threads on this topic on the Architecture Major board of this site. First, I think you need to understand your options for a “major” in architecture. Do you want to straight for the B.Arch which is a professional degree or do you want to get a BS or BA in architecture?

B.Arch programs are very focused and intense and don’t leave a lot of leeway for experimentation or minors in other disciplines. Some are more structures based; some more design. You have to research individual programs to learn the differences.

If you choose to get a BS or BA in architecture or architecture studies, you’ll have more flexibility to take elective classes, but you’ll still need to get an M.Arch in order to practice architecture.
