Architecture camp experience?

<p>I’m considering applying to Cornell’s, RISD’s, Syracuse’s, and Carnegie Mellon’s architecture programs for summer 2013. If anyone has attended any of these, could you share how your time was? I want to know more about the curriculum from a student’s point of view and if the assignments given allowed for a portfolio piece to be created. I had heard that RISD’s courses focused more on a design POV, but I haven’t seen much on Carnegie’s, Syracuse’s, or Cornell’s, so any insight on their curriculum would be much appreciated. Also, info on things like dorms, weekend activities, and general enjoyment of the camps would be great.</p>

<p>*Side note: if you went to an architecture camp but not held by one of the school’s I listed, please feel free to add your input!</p>

<p>My DD’s friend went to the summer arch. program at USC and really loved it. The work was intense from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. but she felt she learned a lot and had a great experience.</p>

<p>You might look at UCLA’s program for high school kids. Looks intense–and I’d love to hear from anyone who has tried it.</p>
