Architecture degree with interior design?

Hi! I am currently going to school for business - just taking the basics right now but I’ve always had an interest in becoming an architect. BUT I think it would be so fun to also be an interior designer. I love all aspects of both. Is there anyway to be doing both?

I want to be an architect but interior design has always seemed like a really fun and great way to connect to people.

Advice?

Thanks!

Does your school offer any Architecture classes? If so, you can take a course to see if you like Architecture. You can probably do both if you major in business UG and then get a masters in Architecture. Or you can find a program where you can double major but that would be really hard - if not impossible. I don’t recommend double majoring. They say that Architecture is one of the hardest majors out there. It is on par with engineering and medicine.

newjersey17 if i were to do architecture I wouldn’t do business. I’m wondering about architecture and interior design - not business or if i should do architecture.

Oh I see. You said you are studying business. What year are you in college? Does your college offer an architecture studio class that you can take to see if you like it?

If you have an architecture degree, you can also do interior design work - if you have a degree in interior design, you can’t do architecture. By far and away, a degree in architecture opens up your opportunities in design fields.

A lot of architecture firms do interior work - there are no interior design firms that can do architecture.
