Architecture double major help...

Hi! I'm a rising senior (class of 2011) and am trying to get this whole college thing figured out. I really want to major in architecture...wait, let's face it: I am for sure majoring in architecture.
But, seeing as how they have been affected in this recession, I would like to find a second field to major in. I was thinking Urban Planning because of the growing demand and I think it would be cool yet easy since it involves a lot of architecture nature, but I have ruled out engineering because I feel it would be too hard to double major in both Architecture and Civil Engineering. If I'm wrong, by all means correct me.
If any of you have any other fields that could easily be majored in while studying architecture, please post them.

A double major with architecture will be difficult at best. Anything business-related would be good; construction management would be your best and most lucrative bet as a double major if possible.

At many schools it’s impossible to double major with arch. because studio time takes up a good chunk of your week… but i feel like CM or business would be good options if possible.

JDH, I just signed up my son for his first year architecture courses at Clemson, and you have no electives in the first year. So in most schools a dual major might be difficult.

You mention Urban Planning because of the ‘growing demand’. Right now I don’t think anything to do with the design/planning/construction industry is doing well. Times will change, but I would guess that the demand for urban planners will reflect the demand for architects and other building professionals.
