Architecture not requiring portfolio

Since i am not ready to complete portfolio in time. I was wondering what schools do not require portfolio. Can you tell me schools which does not require portfolio for the architecture program. Is is hard to get in Carnegie Mellon Architecture which i know as school not requiring than schools that require portfolio since it does not require portfolio.

I also want to know the way i can transfer or change major to Architecture after getting into college. Here are some ways i am thinking about.

apply for architecture school that does not require portfolio.

apply for school that has good architecture program and than change the major

apply for college that fits my score and then transfer to good architecture school.

If i choose to do 2 or 3 i am planning to attend Art academy for 1 year then apply for architecture.

My SAT score is 2210 and GPA is around 3.8

Here is a range of schools that don't require a portfolio as an entering freshman, they are a mixture of 4 & 5 year porgrams. Many require a portfolio at the end of sophomore year when declaring a major and being accepted into the school of architecture:
U of Wisconsin - Milw
U of Cinn
U of Arizona
Montana State University
U of Mass - Amherst
U of Washington
Northeastern
U of Ill - Urbana Campaign
Cal Poly SLO
Syracuse
U of Michigan - Ann Arbor
Tulane
Barnard
UC Berkeley
WUSTL
Brown
Columbia
Yale

Others that I don't think need a portfolio, but am not absolutely sure:
Clemson
U of Colorado - Boulder
U Miami
Smith
Wellesley
Bowdoin
Tufts
Middlebury
Princeton
MIT

These have architecture, but I don't know if they reauire a portfolio or not:
USC
U Penn
U of Toronto
Arizona State University
U of Tennesee
Penn State
U of Minnesota
U of Texas
U of Florida
Portland State University

Caution: double check any of these that you are interested in with their website as I made up this list a couple of years ago and it may not be totally accurate. About CMU, I don't think it's easy to get into even though it doesn't require a portfolio, as it's a highly respected program. I believe that you have to show in an essay, classes and your EC's that you have a passion for architecture and proven artistic skills. Good luck. EM
