Last year I went through this process with my daughter. She just finished her 1st year in the Architecture program at the U of Illinois and is extremely pleased. However, her decision came at the last minute because she (and I) absolutely loved the program and the new dean at Tulane. You may want to look at Tulane as long as you're still identifying schools. And for what it's worth, the U of Illinois has one of the strongest study abroad programs in architecture. You can spend your junior year at the Versailles.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info, a girl from my school was supposed to go to Tulane this year I think. Not to sound uninformed, but since its in New Orleans how is the campus and the surrounding area?

Is there a decent program at Clemson, and NC State?

I wouldn't really call Cincinatti a safety for anyone...

The one thing I've heard about Tulane is that they're being a little more generous with scholarship money than usual to attract people back to the campus.

The Tulane campus is in the Garden District and is absolutely beautiful. This is the most affluent area of New Orleans. As in any city, you learn how to get around and what areas are safe. I was unconcerned for my daughter's safety.

Well the reason I put Cincinatti as a safety was because I really was unsure about the difficulty of their admissions, I usually refer to the PR colllege book which I couldn't find them in for whatever reason, but thanks, how tough would you say that their admissions are?

Thats good information about Tulane, thanks.
