i know this is a pretty trivial question, but what are cornell architecture majors' starting salaries?
and how easy is it to get a job in architecture?

i think around $25-30,000 as an intern

extremely easy

don't go into architecture if your major focus is on earning money.

i think to be more specific (based on cornell salary report and avg starting salary), it ranges from 30k to 40k, mainly depending on where you work. if you work in nyc (which is common for cornellian arch grads), then they'll probably pay you around 40k cause i can't imagine how you can survive in nyc at a salary of 30k.

but cornellian arch grads are in high demand. in a DI survey, cornell is ranked first for a couple of years as the top choice for firms across the nation. it's a good thing especially in a field that is so competitive. but of course you'll have to work hard too.

i know i shouldnt' go into architecture because of money, and i'm not, becasue i were after money, there would be other fields.

i really want to major in architecture and i'm dead set on EDing to cornell, but i just needed something to reassure my mom becuase she thinks architects won't find jobs or they won't make money, blah blah blah.

they dont make a huge amount of money, but after a little bit of time on the job (and after arch. certification, etc.) Cornell arch. students will prob. make the national average of salary in the US.

it's really easy for Cornell arch. grads to find jobs, the best in the US.

national avg salary in the US? isn't that like 30k? or are you talking about national avg salary for professionals?

i hear it's relatively high compared to the avg salary of what americans make. but it's relatively low compared to other professions.

the average salary in the US in general is about $45,000
