Architecture vs Civil

Heres the idea: I live in the middle east, country called Oman, and my dad owns a business which is around 4 years old. He supplies all solutions for a building; The company makes around $2m a year. We have to be really close to the architects and the contractor.

My idea: If I were to study Arch or Civil, would it be possible to open my own consulting firm? And when I get clients, (which I will), I could always specify my dad and his products.

My question: Where I live, there is no uni that teaches Arch/eng, but only civil. If I got a civil degree, would I still be able to open my own firm?

What is the difference between arch and civil? Can a civil eng, also design buildings? because I am very artistic. It doesnt matter how much I make from the firm, main thing that generates money is the products which my dad sells.

So basically its a win-win situation. What do you thinks?

Architecture places more emphasis on the artistic aspects of building design, while civil engineering is focused on the functional aspects.

There are also a number of Architectural Engineering programs which provide you with something in between Architecture and Civil Engineering. We find that our program at Illinois Institute of Technology is quite popular with students.
