architecture

I have a friend that wants to apply to UT austin's architecture school.. is that extremely competitive? The ranking is really high for their architecture school..

Also, she lives here in the US, but she's not a permanent resident yet, so will she have to apply as an international?

also, will she need a portfolio when she applies as an undergraduate?

any opinions anybody? Is there an architecture section of cc that I'm missing? sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.. :)

try posting in the UT board

there are a couple architecture threads started that have lots of people reading them. look under "college majors"--"other college majors" and there are a couple, something like "condensed architecture" and some kind of just architecture one. : ) sorry, but I can't answer any of your questions.

Umm, I got in with the following:

2170 SATI, 760/740/760 SAT II's (m1/US/Lit)
3.3 UW GPA (!), 4.1 w
59/725

I'm also in-state

Keep in mind that the school of architecture has the highest average SAT score of any school at UT, around a 1360;

It's a really great program

I didn't send a portfolio in, but it couldn't hurt, and for OOS'rs/foreigners, you really need all the help you can get.

they return all portfolios as specified on website. if your stats are good enough there should be no worries because that's all they ask for.
