Hello, I’m a senior applying to colleges this year.
I’m planning to apply to more stem heavy schools like purdue, uiuc, georgia tech as engineering major.
I asked my math and science teachers for letter of rec, then I heard that you need 1 humanities and 1 stem, even if it’s not required.
Would I need a letter from humanities teacher too even when I’m applying to more stem heavy schools?
Varies by college.
Unless the college says otherwise, recs from 2 STEM teachers are fine, provided they are different subjects. So calc and physics would be fine; 2 math recs would not be.
If the school wanted a humanities rec, they’d say so, like MIT does
