are 300 words enough for 3-word essay?

huh? (10 chars)

I meant “are 300 words enough for one of supplemental essays, asking 3 words that best describe you…?”

if they’re 300 words that are very well-written. what my bu writing professors told me is that, while they give a range of a certain number of pages for assignments, they’d rather see 8 pages of quality writing than 12 pages of crap. so i’d go with that.

while i havent seen the application myself…i was under the impression that a 3 word essay meant only… 3 words?

Are you talking about the 500 word essay? If so than I doubt, since it says approx. 500 words.

oh didnt know that :P

The max is 500 words, not a requirement. If you feel your essay is of quality and describes you well then I say keep it. Don’t just start sticking in crappy sentences.

^^^agree. If you said what you wanted to say in 300, stop right there and hit “submit”.

Good luck!

There are many cases where shorter essays answer the question better than the long bs papers. But if you’re feeling nervous handing in a shorter essay, then maybe review it a little.

I would make sure you answered both parts of the question: Selecting three words that best describe you AND saying how you will use those qualities to contribute fully to the BU community. If you covered both bases in a killer essay, then I’d say you’re good to go!

what have people been saying for that “describe yourself in 3 words” essay??
