Are A- grades good enough?

^^ Hopefully, this all evens out when colleges recalculate GPA. Not sure how it works for the ones that don’t.

At your school an A- is a 4.0, but at my son’s school, an A- is a 3.5…

A- is ok. The real question is do you know what else top colleges look for besides stats, what makes a great app?

Remember most top pivates are not recalculating. They look at the transcript. And the School Report for the grading scale.

@snarlatron
An A- grade at his school is an A grade at my school. A transcript full of those grades would be a 4.0 at my high school and to think that that makes the OP unqualified for an elite school is kind of absurd.

At my school, transcripts do show +/- grades. However, my transcript doesn’t show unweighted GPA, only weighted. So colleges might recalculate my unweighted GPA, which is 3.7-3.8.

A 33 on the ACT is good but a 32 is awful?
Care to clarify.
A bit of context here the OP here commented on my post where I had 32 on the ACT awful. So I am a bit startled to see he himself has a 33.
Isn’t it a bit hypocritical ?
